Al Quran Surah Baqarah Ayahs 72-73 72.
Remember ye slew a man and fell into a dispute among yourselves as to the crime:
But Allah was to bring forth what ye did hide.
73. So We said: "Strike the (body) with a piece of the (heifer)." Thus Allah bringeth the dead to life and showeth you His Signs: Perchance ye may understand.

Tirmidhi Hadith 596(R)Narrated by Atiyyah ibn Urwah as-Sa'di
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
No one can achieve the height of piety till he forsakes those practices which are harmlessmerely to guard himself against those which are harmful.
