Dear President Obama,

I was very much moved by your letter when you described in intricate details the Haitian earthquake: collapsed hospitals, crumbled homes, and men and women carrying their injured…. Are truly heart – wrenching. As we learn more about the extent of the devastation, our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Haiti and Haitian Americans around our country who do not yet know the fate of their families and loved ones back home.

All know, this is an act of God, and I believe this is God’s will. However, I cannot but remember Gaza, where the destruction is manmade, deliberate, and brutal, and where crimes are still being committed, by Israel imposed siege, walls, and wars, in which American supplied weapons are misused, to create havoc, destruction, and death. The State of Israel is acting with impunity, as a wild beast and out of control, subjecting the entire Gaza strip population of 1.5 millions, to starvation and death. The State of Israel have used US arms on unarmed civilians, in violation of International Law, and US Arm Export Laws that forbids the misuse of such weapons. Your policy of appeasement with Israel will destroy all peace in the Middle East, and will make the surge of fanaticism and extremism a reality that will endanger all the world.

No kind words were ever expressed directly or indirectly, by you or any representative of the Administration, to console the mothers and the families of those victims in Gaza and the West Bank, that Israel killed in cold blood, where many survivors saw in their own eyes, Israel's merciless ferocity against their loved ones, some of whom were hounded, herded, imprisoned in compounds, schools, mosques, churches, hospitals, and their own homes, only to be mass murdered, by a ruthless, and racist Israeli regime that strive on deceit and robberies of land they occupy, confiscate, and ravage.

As you have stated at the end of your letter Mr. President: “We will continue to stand with the people of Haiti,” I hope you will have the strength and the courage to stand with the people of Gaza who are still suffering from Israel barbaric siege and crimes. I hope you will take immediate action and force Israel to allow much needed simple basic food, medicine, and water to enter Gaza. Please remember to Keep Gaza suffering in your thoughts and prayers.

Remember we the people who supported you are still awaiting your miraculous change, to address Palestinians need, for justice, liberty and freedom. As Palestinian Americans with many relatives living in Gaza, we are concerned and wondering why your administration are not helping Gaza; they are humans who are suffering like those in Haiti.

Please act now; no time for delay

Respectfully Yours

Hamza El Alami
